Overview: Dennis A. Cairns has become a trusted advisor and advocate for a wide array of clients, from twenty-somethings starting to dream to retirees living the dream. Relationship building, fiduciary responsibility and financial stewardship are the core of his practice. Dennis founded DAC/fp in 1995. The mission was to help a client define financial dreams, design financial strategies and develop an ongoing financial plan. Yet even as he was successful in this arena, he realized that a true financial plan umbrellas and is interconnected with other specialties, from estate planning to tax advisement, and insurance. While he was advising clients to seek the services of these other subject matter experts, it became apparent that what would be truly beneficial is to have these experts all "sitting at the same table," fully understanding the benefits and implications of how each decision affects other facets of the financial picture. He has built DAC/fp to provide this comprehensive holistic lifetime financial planning strategy. Whatever the financial dreams of a client, Dennis believes in a thorough analysis of their current financial situation. It is followed by the creation of an ongoing tailored strategy designed to achieve long-term goals without sacrificing short-term needs. In crafting a strategy, Dennis draws on the knowledge, talents and skills of Subject Matter Experts from various fields who convene regularly to guide the financial plan throughout life's changes. Dennis has spent much of life as a Michigander. Born and raised in Greenville, he graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Business Administration. He has lived in the Spring Lake / Grand Haven area for over forty years. Dennis is family oriented and plays an active role in his community and church. He has strong a strong faith commitment is the founder of the Conservatory for Praise and Worship Leadership. He has also volunteered as a budget counselor for the non-profit ministry Love In the Name of Christ (Love INC), educating people of all income levels on how to better manage their money. Dennis has two grown sons and has been involved in leadership positions with the local Boy Scouts of America council. He was also part of a core leadership team that was responsible for making soccer a sanctioned sport in the Spring Lake school system. It is this love of family, community, and faith in Christ that support his role as a valued trusted advisor in what has become financially precarious times.
