Dr. Jez Mohideen is an accomplished entrepreneur and financial innovator, recognized for building businesses at the intersection of traditional finance and digital assets. As Co-Founder & CEO of Laser Digital — the digital finance arm of Nomura Group, he is leading the

creation of regulated, institutional-grade solutions across trading, asset management, and venture investment in the digital asset ecosystem.

An entrepreneur at heart, Jez has co-founded and scaled ventures including Komainu, an institutional digital asset custodian launched with Nomura in 2018, and KAIO (formerly Libre), a pioneer in tokenisation infrastructure for real-world assets. Prior to Nomura, he was a partner at Brevan Howard, spearheading systematic and AI/ML-driven macro trading

strategies.

With over 30 years in global capital markets and macro trading, Jez also served as Nomura’s Chief Digital Officer and Co-Head of Global Markets EMEA, driving the firm’s digital transformation. He holds a PhD in Process Systems Engineering and a Master’s in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College London.
